Want to know more? Here’s a closer look at what you can do with Nolo's Quicken WillMaker & Trust:

      • Will: The heart of every estate plan is a will, also known as a last will and testament. This legal document puts you in control of who inherits your property and who would take care of your children if it were ever necessary. Without a will, state law determines these issues. Your will also allows you to name an executor (sometimes called a “personal representative”) to carry out our wishes. And you can appoint a trusted person to manage property left to young people. With WillMaker, you can revise and update your will whenever you like.

Also, use WillMaker to give your executor authority over your digital assets, including social media accounts, online banking and more.

      • Living Trust: Distribute your assets and provide property management while keeping your trust property out of lengthy and expensive probate proceedings after you die.
      • Health Care Directive: Spare your loved ones difficult decisions by laying out your wishes for medical care and naming someone to carry out your instructions:

        • Health Care Power of Attorney: Name a trusted person (your "health care agent") to make important medical decisions for you if necessary.
        • Living Will: State what types of medical treatment you do or do not want if you are too ill or injured to direct your own care. Your health care providers must do all they can to follow your wishes.
      • Durable Power of Attorney for Finances: A durable power of attorney ensures that someone you trust (called your "agent" or "attorney-in-fact") will be on hand to manage the many practical, financial tasks that will arise if you become incapacitated. For example, bills must be paid, bank deposits must be made and someone must handle insurance and benefits paperwork. In most cases, a durable power of attorney for finances is the best way to take care of tasks like these. You can also give your attorney-in-fact authority over your digital assets.

      • Documents for Your Executor: Make sure your executor has all the forms and instructions necessary to do the job: checklists, letters, notices and claim forms.

      • Final Arrangements: Plan a funeral or other ceremony and ease the burden on your loved ones. Describe your preferences for burial, cremation, memorials, obituaries and more.

      • Information for Caregivers and Survivors: Organize your information so that your survivors don't have to. Use these documents to give them details about everything from bank accounts, to passwords, to the names of people you'd like contacted in the event of your illness or death.

      • Letter to Survivors: Use the Letter to Survivors to leave your loved ones detailed explanations about your decisions. For example, you may want to let them know why you made certain gifts or named a particular person to be your executor. You can also use your letter to leave some general thoughts about your life.

      • Personal Finance Documents: Over a dozen forms let you handle common financial situations, such as lending or borrowing money between friends or family, creating a bill of sale, and closing a credit card account.

      • Home & Family Documents: Practical forms you can use every day to help run your home and keep your family safe, including authorizations and agreements, promissory notes, limited powers of attorney, and child and elder care forms.

Not Sure Which Documents Do You Need? Take the Document Quiz

WillMaker’s Document Quiz helps you decide which estate planning documents to make. Just answer a few short questions about the circumstances of your life, and based on your answers, WillMaker explains which documents might be useful to you.

*Estate planning documents not valid in Louisiana, U.S. Territories or Canada.

Easy, complete, in my control

By Mary C.

I love that using this application locally lets me put all of the files into my OWN cloud storage, rather than trusting that some online service will be around in 5, 10, or more years. I love that the contact address info is built up separately from the forms, so it's fast and easy to add them to new forms. I love that I can manage my forms and my son's clearly in the documents list.

So far so good.

By Richard H.

I have just started the process of updating my documents. It appears that the program asked every possible question to provide a very good and accurate document and provides a very detailed printout.

Easy, but incomplete

By Janice K.

I walked through and completed the items that we needed for our family trust - Wills, Declaration of Trust, Power of Attorney for Financial Management, Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, Information for Caregivers and Survivors. The last document was the most time consuming, but is probably the most important document. This program did not include a HIPPA authorization or a Quit Claim Deed which you need for the Trust.

Easy to understand

By Jerry H.

This WillMaker & Trust software is a great product that's easily understood in producing your Will and a Trust setup if you need it. I tried to use a recommended free package and the WillMaker is so much more comprehensive that make's it the only way for me.

The best!

By Barbara B.

I had used another will maker a few years ago but this one is far superior. It was very intuitive and so easy to follow. I loved that it allowed my husband to do his will without having to re-enter the same information as mine. Highly recommend!

For a non-lawyer, NOBO products are amazing

By Robert M.

I'm having an attorney help with my will and family trust, and I'm using this application to gather all of my family's information in preparation for turning it over to an attorney, you know, just to make sure it's all correct. Obviously, I'll do the footwork and deal with the county recorder to change the property ownership to the trust.
A few years back I was sued by a corrupt contractor and with NOLO's books, I defended ourselves and prevailed in OC Superior Court.

Easiest way yet to create your critical documents!

By Robert S.

I was looking for software to create my Will, Power of Attorney and a few more estate planning forms. I test drove several packages but the NOLO software provided the easiest interview based process and most comprehensive set of state specific forms.

A great, guided way to make a will

By Nathan B.

I've long felt that a will shouldn't have to be an extensive and expensive meeting with a lawyer. Just tell me what choices I have and let me make the decision. Willmaker & Trust is an easy, step-by-step guide to planning and codifying what should happen once you've passed.

I am currently working on completing it now. I am doing so in preparation for a one-on-one legal consultation. It is forcing me to think through many issues and make informed decisions before I get there. Great job, Nolo!

First Look

By Monty M.

I've only had this software for a few weeks and haven't yet really dug into its full range of capabilities. First impression is positive as the beginning interview process is strikingly similar to Quicken and TurboTax in gathering personal details and preferences. The overall program seems well organized and will meet my expectations and needs. There is more to come as I immerse myself in the intricacies of the various documents. Bottom line: first impression is very good; more to come later.

By Robert C.

This purchase was to replace a 12 year old software. Very simple and easy to use, every step is explained plus research is available for in depth review if needed.

Well written explanations

By Gary P.

As I progressed through the various documents I had not expected to find such well written explanations at each interval. In addition, again at each interval, I was guided to a more thorough narrative on the topic. The narratives were state-specific which I found in comparing to my own state sources.

Nice Step-by-Step process

By Michael E.

Really good explanations thru each step and access to more info outside the program. I really like the easy access to legal help if needed. Program esthetics are not as nice as I would have thought. I had a little trouble getting back to where I was to see info but I finally figured it out. I would Definitely recommend the software to Anyone. What a great way to get more people started on life documents then if you need extra legal help you can get it.
